Design with Scratch

Design
a basic computer video game (no experience needed). Learn about storyboarding,
use of color, light and texture for mood creation. Create an exciting landscape
for your game. Load, animate sprites and add sound. Each student gets a disc of
their projects and the software (Scratch)

Students
use Alice to create a 3D programming environment to create animations which can
be a story, interactive game or simply a dance. We teach the fundamental principles
of object oriented programming through animation. These concepts are used to populate
a virtual world and then animate the objects within that world such as people,
animals, and vehicles. While making games and animations they are learning the
principles behind Java, C++ and C#. Students get to keep the work they create
and get a copy of Alice.

- XBOX360 Game Design - Ted Jordan
Learn
to make games like Tetris, Pac-Man, Asteroids or Bejeweled for the Xbox 360. The
Video Game Design tool (C# using Visual C# Express) uses a combination of typed
commands and a drag-and-drop tool. We teach students the game development cycle
from design to finished game. The games can be played on a computer or XBOX360.
Games can be submitted to Microsoft's annual Dream-Build-Play Challenge game design
contest.

- 3D Video Game Design/Panda 3D - Ted Jordan
Step
up to the next level of visual excitement and gaming. Add light and texture to
create a Realistic environment that looks like a real world. This course focuses
on important aspects of making 3D Video Game. Students use concepts learned from
Scratch and Alice. They use Panda and Blender to make a 3D game. This course shows
students how 3D video games are made.

- How to Build and Repair a Computer - Ted Jordan
Want
a faster computer with more memory? This is the class for you. Take apart a computer
and learn the hardware components. Reassemble; install operating system and software,
technology upgrades add-ons and debug. Students work in teams of two. $50 material
fee payable to Funutation on the first day.

Create
a website that highlights your creativity! Learn the basics of web design. Students
start by learning design fundamentals such as storyboarding, color choices, and
moods using HTML programming. Next learn how to add text, images and forms to
your website. We teach you how to be Safe on the Internet.

- Digital Video Production - Ted Jordan
Learn
the basics of using advanced digital video cameras. This course covers techniques
for producing a quality video. Editing software is used to add special effects,
audio, and graphics to the projects. Students storyboard and then shoot short
documentaries, ads, and comedy sketch videos. Each student can download a DVD
of their work from the funutation.com website. Students work in teams of 4-6.

(Virtual Reality Control Unit)

work on fun electronics projects and create their own LED remote control unit.
The controller manipulates a 3D environment on the computer. This course teaches
students the basics of computers, electronics, transistors, and diodes. The experience
is enhanced with the 3D glasses they make.
