Friends of the Library Bargain Book Sale -Thousands of books at bargain prices
will be offered for sale at the Upper Arlington Public Library (UAPL) for two
weeks starting at noon, Sunday, Aug. 19 and ending Sept. 7. The sale is at the
main library, 2800 Tremont Rd., sponsored by the UAPL Friends, a volunteer organization.
The 31st annual summer event will continue daily during normal library hours (except
Sept. 5 when the library will be closed) through 3 p.m, Labor Day, Sept. 6. |

Golden Bears vs Holy Trinity at Marv Moorehead Stadium, 7:30 p.m. The
Golden Bear Touchdown Club will honor the 2000 Upper Arlington High School State
Championship football team on September 10,2010. This is the 10th anniversary
for the state championship football team. A
reception for the 2000 team will be held insideMarv Moorehead Stadium near the
main entrance from 6:00 to 7:15 pm. Each team member will be given 2 complimentary
tickets to the game. The 2000 team will form a tunnel as the Golden Bears take
the field against Toronto Canada's Holy Trinity. A half-time ceremony will take
place on the field to celebrate and acknowledge the team's accomplishments. For

presents the series of films by Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski known as
the Three Colors Trilogy. Blue, white and red are the three colors
of the French flag and the story of each film is loosely based on one of the three
political ideals in the motto of the French Republic: liberty, equality and fraternity.
We begin on Sunday, September 12 at 2 p.m. with a showing of Blue. This 1994 film
is the story of a woman who loses her husband and young daughter in a car accident
and her attempt to start life anew. |

Sept. 19th - Steps for Sarcoma 5k The first annual Steps for Sarcoma 5k run/walk
and 1-mile Park walk! All proceeds from this event will benefit the Orthopaedic
Sarcoma Cancer Research Fund at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer
Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
Sarcomas represent a family of rare cancers that originate in the connective tissues,
which includes fat, muscle, bone, cartilage, nerve, fibrous tissue, and blood
vessels. This first annual event is organized by the Sarcoma Support Group and
the Columbus Running Company.
Time: 1-mile Walk at 8:30 AM, followed by
5k run/walk at 9 AM Location: Thompson Park- South Shelterhouse, 4250 Woodbridge
Road Entry fees: $25 for 5k run/walk and $15 for 1-mile Thompson Park walk Awards:
Top three male and female 5k run finishers will receive special awards. Post-race
Raffle: A raffle will be held post-race with excellent prizes! For

Kapers of Central Ohio Kitchen Kapers is the major fundraising event for Service
Board VII of Riverside Methodist Hospital. Kitchen Kapers hosts an annual tour
of remodeled kitchens in the Upper Arlington and surrounding areas. This year's
tour is on Sunday, September 19 from noon to 5 p.m. Come join the fun! Tour gourmet
kitchens, enjoy lovely flowers, and sample fine food. Meet honorary spokesperson,
Mindy Drayer, anchor of the Today Weekend Edition on NBC 4, on the day of the

stop swimming just because summer is ending soon! The Columbus Coralina Synchronized
Swimming Club is offering a "TRY SYNCHRO FOR FREE" Day on Saturday,
September 25, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. for ages seven and up at New Albany High
School Natatorium located at 7600 Fodor Road, New Albany. No cost to participate,
but registration is requested. Participants must be able to competently swim a
